Some Possible Causes and Resolutions
**please note this list is not exhaustive
Cause: Old or obsolete service pack.
Resolution: Apply the latest service pack. All middleware fixes are included in service packs. These fixes can affect how memory is written or retrieved.
Cause: ESU or code change applied incorrectly.
Resolution: Verify spec merge and package build were successful. Do a full package when the ESU affects a large number of objects. Re-apply ESU.
Cause: Corrupt object specifications due to bad package being deployed. A DLL or BSFN may not have been built correctly.
Resolution: Build and deploy a full new package.
Cause: Corrupt Central Object specs resulting in corrupt packages.
Resolution: Do an object transfer from the backup environment for affected object.
Cause: Corrupt version in FDA or RDA specs.
Resolution: Add (never copy) a new version.
Cause: Corrupt processing option values in the Versions List (F983051).
Resolution: Add (never copy) a new version.
Cause: Corrupt user override values in the User Overrides (F98950) table or the User Overrides (F98950) table was converted.
Resolution: Delete all user overrides for an application.
Cause: Corrupt or converted data.
Resolution: Point environment to a different data source and re-test.
Cause: BSFNâs mapped incorrectly.
Resolution: If BSFNâs share the same memory cache then they need to be mapped together. Use OCM mapping guide and verify BSFNâs are mapped correctly.
Cause: Custom modifications have been made to an object.
Resolution: Remove the custom.
Cause: Media Object data structure is corrupt or Media Objects (F00165) (F00166 for Xe) has corrupt records. Memory error may occur when trying to attach text or OLE.
Resolution: Check out the media object data structure in OL or OMW to refresh. Clean up Media Objects (F00165) records.
