Exclusive Application Security to bypass the row security applied on certain report

Hi, you might find this security quite useful if you have row security in place.  For example, an user with row security can't view certain column if compared to user w/o security.

In order to ease the revision on the row security which could lead to tedious steps, pls apply  this security on the user who needs the report format as same as user w/o the security.

What is Exclusive Application Security?

Exclusive Application security enables you to grant access to otherwise secured information through one exclusive application.  It works in combination with Row Security.

For example, assume that you use row security to secure a user from seeing a range of salary information; however, the user needs to run a report for payroll that includes that salary information. You can grant access to the report, including the salary information, using Exclusive Application security.  EnterpriseOne continues to secure the user from all other applications in which that salary information might appear.

You can set up Exclusive Application security at three levels:
  • User
  • Role
  • *PUBLIC
EnterpriseOne first looks for Exclusive Application security at the User level, then at the Role level, and then at the *PUBLIC level. If you set any of the security at a higher level, such as at the user level, the software ignores lower-level security settings, such as the Role or *PUBLIC levels.

Can Exclusive Application Security be used with all security types such as Application Security or Column Security?

No.  Exclusive Application Security only works in combination with Row Security.  It is not designed to work with any other security types defined in the Security Workbench application (P00950).
