7 TIPS TO BUY CHEAP FLIGHT TICKETS.
1. Booking Tuesdays And Wednesdays
Tuesdays and Wednesdays are one of the best days for you to buy flight tickets. The majority of airlines will typically set their booking systems on Tuesdays at 7.00 p.m. This was done because the airline knew most passengers would only have time to book tickets on weekdays. According to statistics, it's proven that most of us will only hover ticket prices on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
2. Book Early, But Not Too Early
Based on experience, you must book tickets at least 21 days in advance from your flight date. Most airlines have set it up in the system to achieve as many ticket sales as possible. So, in the system a certain quota of flight tickets sold at a very cheap price has been set. For example, in a designated system of flights from Kuala Lumpur to London, only 20 earliest passengers will be able to book tickets at the lowest prices. While the next 200 passengers will get medium price and the rest may be more expensive. In short, the airline system will indeed set ticket prices based on the margin that the company wants when they fly from Kuala Lumpur to London.
3. Suitable Flying Day
Try to book tickets to fly on Tuesday or Wednesday. Most airlines would indeed designate these two days as ‘less busy days’ for the booking system. Airports are also usually less busy on both days, compared to Friday and Sunday which the booking system and airports will be extremely busy.
4. Search 'Best Deal' For International Flights
Most airlines will offer the ‘Best Deal’ about 11 to 12 weeks in advance for international flights. So, you guys have to be diligent in checking ticket prices during this period.
5. Choose To Land At A Small Airport
You guys can try this technique, i.e. landing at an airport that is not the 'main airport' of a destination. For example, if you want to go to London, usually many would choose to land at Heathrow. After this dont land at heathrow, instead try landing at a 'small' airport that's as close to Heathrow as Manchester's airport. Then from Manchester you take the train to London. Try this method. Must have been cheaper!
6. Throw away the 'Cookies'
This is what a lot of people don't know. Please dispose cookies on your laptops, smartphones and PCs if you've visited the flight website 30 days in advance. Because through these cookies, the airline's booking system will assume that you've been looking at their website repeatedly. So the booking system will set the same price even if you've entered the site repeatedly. Sometimes, the price goes up again! So, you guys are practicing the habit of deleting cookies on your internet browser. If you don't know how to delete please ask Mr. Google!
7. Compare Prices
Don't be lazy to google and compare the ticket prices you want on other websites. Don't focus on just one website. You will be surprised that sometimes you will find that there are cheaper ticket prices than the same airline. Here is a search engine I use frequently to travel:
1. Skyscanner
2. CheapFlight
3. Momondo
4. Kayak
5. Google Flight
6. Ita Software
