Steps of changing system user or proxy user in JDE E1

For EnterpriseOne 8.10 and above:
  1. Stop EnterpriseOne services and JAS Server instances.
  2. Change the database user password (user and login for SQL Server, AS/400 user profile, etc.). Note that some databases treat passwords as case-sensitive (SQL Server 2005, Oracle DB 11g, etc.).
  3. Disable Security Server in the server JDE.INI file.
  4. Disable Security Server in the client JDE.INI file.  Use 1 machine to apply these changes.
  5. Login to the workstation with a valid E1/Database user account.
  6. Open P98OWSEC.
  7. Change the Proxy User password.  The new password entered should be the same case as the database login password.
  8. Change the E1 user password.  Uncheck the "Force immediate password change" option before clicking OK.
  9. Logout of workstation.
  10. Update the client and server JDE.INI files with the new password in [DB SYSTEM SETTINGS] and [SECURITY] sections.  Ensure password case sensitivity.
  11. On JAS server, change the JDBJ.INI files with new password in the [JDBj-BOOTSTRAP SESSION] section.
  12. Run PORTTEST with the new system user and password.
  13. Enable Security Server in client and server JDE.INI files.
  14. Start E1 service(s).  If using multiple servers (logic, enterprise), start services on the server designated as the primary Security Server.
  15. Submit a UBE to the server.  This will ensure connectivity to the database.
  16. Have HTML users login and also submit a UBE to the server.

Hope that helps...
