DHCP Configuration - Win2008 server

DNS server is used to convert IP to Hostname Eg. pc1.group.microsoft.com. and also deal with web addressess. Eg www.google.com A typical sample of DNS server used in private network as below :

You may use command below to update the server name.
Ipconfig /renew
Ipconfig /registerdns

Typical DNS update on every 24 hrs:
computer name : pc1
domain name : group.microsoft.com
fullname : pc1.group.microsoft.com

hint : Google DNS Server :8.8.8.8 , 8.8.4.4.

To configure the DHCP server to register client information according to the client's request, follow these steps:

1. Open the DHCP properties for the server or the individual scope.
2. Click the DNS tab, click Properties, and then click to select the Dynamically update DNS A and PTR records only if requested by the DHCP clients check box.
